Gavin Rossdaleis one proud father.
While speaking to PEOPLE on set ofThe Talk’s Halloween episode, the Bush frontman, 57, revealed that his 9-year-old son Apollo is taking after his parents.
“Apollo sang me a song last night for his play,” Rossdale began, “and it’s really upsetting because I based my tour around his [flag] football season.”
“He’s quarterback. He’s really good. When we were booking the tour, I said, ‘Well I have to stay in L.A. to this date because I can’t miss it,” Rossdale tells PEOPLE. “I knew it would mess something up, but I was determined to not miss him.”

“I missed the game last season, the last game of the season, the playoffs. It was crushing. I had to watch it over FaceTime. I booked my tour around it and I knew something would give.”
“He freaking got the lead in his own play and I don’t come back until the ninth and he’s on the first. Anyway, he sang me a song last night and it was incredible from top to bottom and just beautiful pitch, melody, voice, tone, knew all the words.”
“I was floored. It’s great,” the proud dad added.
Rossdale shares sons Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo with exGwen Stefani, 53. He is also dad to daughter Daisy Lowe, 34, from a previous relationship.
In early October, Rossdaleshared an adorable selfieonhis Instagram, posing with Apollo. The father-son duo sported the same haircut, smiling at the camera as they leaned into each other.
“At home with my bestie 🖤,” Rossdale wrote in his caption.
“Welcome to my world. the best few weeks at home with my better versions of me,” he captioned the photo. “Oh the joy they bring. and yes there’s chewy bottom left. and our super hero apollo. My love is indeed ocean sized.”
