Marvel Studios caput Kevin Feige may get the headlines , but few people have as much tactile influence on the Marvel Cinematic Universe as its design section — in particular , head of ocular development Ryan Meinerding and optical design supervisor Andy Park . Their teams break up design responsibility on Marvel ’s docket and are often intemperate at work on a movie long before there ’s even a managing director or script . “ He did n’t require it to look like Thor , essentially , ” Park explain . “ He did n’t desire it to look like a cohesive , cool - looking gladiator that you ’d expect to see . He want the armour to not look like it goes together : Jack Kirby helmets with unearthly [ accessory ] on it , uncanny shoulder pad of paper , different weapons , and definitely all the colors of the rainbow . ”
Park was apprehensive because he was thinking big picture . How will this wait on a poster ?
