The movie comes after Mendes’Riverdale, the popular CW series she starred in as Veronica Lodge,ended its seven-season runin August.

Upgradedis from director Carlson Young (The Blazing World) and screenwriters Christine Lenig, Luke Spencer Roberts and Justin Matthews (The Duel). Mendes is also credited as an executive producer on the new movie.
The cast also includes Thomas Kretschmann, Gregory Montel, Aimee Carrero, Andrew Schulz, Rachel Matthews Lena Olin and Saoirse-Monica Jackson.
