The honest focus of the next American Horror Story season will stay a mystery until it airs , but that does n’t prevent us from speculating like mad . ( Who would have guessed Roanoke would be about reality TV ? ) Today ’s cue waste-yard fall from the opening citation for Cult — which are artistically creepy in classic AHS style .
It looks like three major motif are stand for here : the onetime AHS understudy , death ( a coffin , a bloody swallow hole , a canine clay ) ; the clowns / dark carnival topic that ’s been in many of the season seven promos ; and , as promised , heavy political overtone , with figures wearing Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton masks , a blood - souse flag , and more . Plus … bee . Lots of bees . It ’s all outre stuff — obviously , designed to evoke more of a mood than reveal anything whatsoever about what to look from Cult . Will this season manage to be more venter - turn than what ’s actually occur in Washington ? It ’s in question , but stranger affair have happened , especially on this show .
